Stratum Protocol Guide

FenixPool supports both Stratum V1 and a native, Noise-encrypted Stratum V2 — on every SHA-256 pool the server auto-detects the protocol on the same host and ports, with full AsicBoost (version-rolling) support. V1 connection URLs use the stratum+tcp:// prefix; V1 remains the recommended path while third-party V2 firmware interop is finalized.

FenixPool now runs a native, Noise-encrypted Stratum V2 endpoint on every SHA-256 pool (same host and ports as V1 — the server auto-detects the protocol). It is deployed across every SHA-256 pool and validated end-to-end with our own tooling. Interop with third-party firmware (Braiins / SRI) is still being confirmed, so V1 remains the recommended path for those rigs for now.

Note: AsicBoost (version-rolling) works fully in V1 mode — you lose nothing by switching from V2. FenixPool's stratum responds to mining.configure with version-rolling support, so your miner will automatically enable AsicBoost after connecting.

Ports & Difficulty — Low vs High

Every pool below offers a Low port (CPU / GPU / small ASICs) and a High port (large ASICs and rentals: MRR/NH). Each connection auto-tunes its difficulty (vardiff) from the starting value shown — it never drops below the port's floor and never exceeds the coin's network difficulty (the ceiling). Choose the port closest to your hardware and vardiff handles the rest.

Set your own difficulty: in your worker password, d=N sets your per-connection starting difficulty — vardiff then tunes up or down from there; it is not a floor. md=N sets a hard floor vardiff can never drop below. “auto” = vardiff scales freely; ceiling is always the coin's live network difficulty.

⚠ One value per rig, not per rental. d= and md= apply to each connection separately. A rental proxy (MRR/NH) opens one connection per rig, so pasting the whole rental's number — e.g. d=5000000 for a 5-rig rental — gives every rig 5,000,000, about 5× too high. Each rig then can't land a share, reads as stalled on the dashboard, and the proxy reconnect-churns. Set d= to a single rig's level (roughly 1/N of the rental), or omit it and let vardiff find it. A too-high md=is worse — a permanent pin the rig can never climb out of.

⚠️Important: LCC chain rejects AsicBoost-rolled blocks

The LiteCoin Cash blockchain uses version-field bits 16-23 for PoW algorithm dispatch (POW_TYPE selector, added in the MinotaurX hardfork). Blocks submitted with those bits set get silently rejected by the daemon as `bad-algo-id` / `high-hash`. This is a chain-level consensus rule, not a pool issue — every LCC pool ecosystem-wide is affected.

By Firmware Family

Recommended Action

If your miner UI has a Version Rolling / AsicBoost toggle — disable it for LCC and restart the miner
If no UI toggle exists, consider downgrading firmware to a pre-March-2026 version (older builds did not roll POW_TYPE bits)
This limitation is unique to LCC. All other FenixPool coins (BTC, BCH, AUR, DGB, NMC, PPC, DOGE, RVN) work normally with AsicBoost enabled.
